David CantorDavid Cantor, Ph.D., QEEG-D, BCN, Licensed Psychologist, Founder
Dr. Cantor received his Bachelor’s Degree with Distinction in Psychology from the University of Connecticut. His honors work was in the field of neurophysiological correlates of cross-modal integration processes in attention deficit disorders. He received his Masters and Doctorates in psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where his dissertation work was on quantitative EEG correlates of Autism. He also most recently received his Postdoctoral Masters of Science in Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is currently licensed as a psychologist in the States of Georgia, Maryland, and Washington. Achievements in his career and awards received include but are not limited to:


  • Fellow status with the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and is Board Certified in Quantitative EEG and BCIA Certified in Neurofeedback.
  • Member of the numerous professional societies and Former President of the EEG and Clinical Neuroscience Society
  • Recipient of several grants in the development of diagnostic tools and in the field of developing new therapeutic techniques with identified populations of brain dysfunction and has published articles and book chapters in these areas.
  • He has been accepted for special fellowships including Congressional Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the State of New York Intercampus Fellow in the area of Brain Research
  • Recipient of a special award from the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitative Association International (N.O.R.A.) for contributions to the field of vision and behavior.


Diane SykesDiane Sykes, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
Diane Sykes, a Clinical Psychologist enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. While completing her degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, in the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Sykes worked in a behavioral health hospital with individuals who needed help overcoming symptoms of depression, anxiety and psychosis. Often these individuals developed dysfunctional behaviors such as eating disorder, self-injury, and other inappropriate behaviors. Since moving to Atlanta, she has lead social skills groups, conducted psychological testing, administered neurofeedback therapy and helped individuals improve their psychological well being as they adjusted to life situations. She is very happy to be a part of the treatment team at Mind & Motion!




Kara RothmannKara Rothmann, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
Kara Rothmann is a Clinical Psychologist who treats individuals of all ages but specializes in child and adolescent psychology. She has worked in the mental health field since 2003 with experience in psychological assessment, group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy. She received a B.A. in both psychology and sociology from Emory University. She then went on to receive a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Argosy University with a concentration in child and family services. As a native to the Atlanta area, Dr. Rothmann is thrilled to be a part of the Mind & Motion family.




Liza Amanda WeberLiza Amanda Weber, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Weber completed her doctorate in clinical psychology with a focus in child and adolescent psychology at Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. She received her Bachelors of Arts in psychology from the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix Campus. Dr. Weber is a native of St. Croix, where she learned how diversity and culture intersect with mental health issues. She is committed to the importance of socially responsible and culturally sensitive practice. Dr. Weber is trained to work with all ages, but specializes in working with children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional difficulties, ranging from, but not limited to attention problems to depression and anxiety. Dr. Weber is excited to be a part of the Mind & Motion treatment team!




Alcuin JohnsonAlcuin Johnson, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Johnson has over 30 years of experience as a psychologist. For most of his career, he has worked directly with children/adolescents and their families, providing neuropsychology and clinical psychology services. He has worked with persons diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries, cancerous brain tumors, blood disorders and developmental disorders (e.g. autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). He has had the pleasure of working as a consultant for many metropolitan area school systems to assist in developing individualized educational programs, 504 accommodation plans, and ADA accommodation plans for college. His vocational pursuits include traveling and music.




Sylvia Eboigbe, MA in CounselingSylvia Eboigbe, MA in Counseling
She is mental health therapist who is passionate about educating others on topics such as mental health and holistic wellness. She is passionate about helping people feel empowered to take control of their lives by embracing and confronting their fears, challenging their thoughts, and learning ways to implement self-compassion along the way. Her aim is to create a space that fosters wellness and a different way to view life and the circumstances we face.





Jeter LavaughnLaVaughn Jeter, MA in Clinical Psychology, Psychometry Team Manager
LaVaughn works as lead clinical psychometrist and coordinator for interns at Mind and Motion. She received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology specializing in children and adolescents from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2010. She also received an M.S. in Criminal Justice specializing in criminal behavior from Tiffin University in 2012. Her particular interest is aggression and deviant behavior in youth and she hopes to work in the Juvenile Justice system in the future. Most important to her when working in mental health is to understand the perspective and experience of those she serves to better meet their needs.




Davera Cook, MA in PsychologyDavera Cook, MA in Psychology
Davera received her Bachelors in Psychology from Spelman College and her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. She has over ten years experience as a psychometrist with both testing and writing psychological reports. Davera’s experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including private practice, community mental health, DFCS and the juvenile courts. She also has interests in the areas of trauma and multicultural issues. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.





Kysierra Collins, BS in PsychologyKysierra Collins, BS in Psychology, Neurotherapy Manager
Kysierra (Kysi) Collins is the Manager of the Neurotherapy Department. She graduated from Tuskegee University in 2017 with a Bachelors in Biology along with a minor in Psychology. Always having a passion to help people and work in the field of health, she knew the field of Mental Health would be her niche. Kysi professes to be an advocate for Mental Health and Health in general, motivating individuals to practice all seven dimensions of wellness. She enjoys being a motivational speaker and networking with like-minded people that strive to be the best they can be and have common goals for helping the community. In her free time, she enjoys singing, playing the piano, producing music, photography, adventures in nature, and spending time with loved ones.





Tyra Clay, MS in Applied PsychologyTira Clay, MS in Applied Psychology
Tira earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Spelman College. She completed her Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology and became a certified natural health practitioner (CNHP) later with the Trinity School of Natural Health. She’s on track to complete her PhD in Clinical Psychophysiology by 2020 with Saybrook University. Tira received a research scholarship from the National Institutes of Health where she conducted research with various scholars and researchers at the University of Michigan, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Spelman College. Research topics included: A Three (3) Year Comparative Study: The Physiological Effects of Benson’s Relaxation Response and Christian Prayer; A Correlative Study: The Neurological Effects of Amphetamine Induced Seizures and Epileptic Seizures in White Laboratory Mice; A Comparative Study: Leadership Styles and Self-Esteem in Battered Woman. Coupled with her work as a Neurotherapist with Mind and Motion, Tira also conducts training and development and consulting and coaching services for businesses, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities to optimize people and processes by bridging gaps in performance, professional skills, and human interactions.





Jonathan Brogdon, MS in Clinical Mental Health CounselingJonathan Brogdon, MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Jonathan earned his master’s in clinical Mental Health from Mercer University. His work has focused on children and adults with developmental difficulties since 2013, and he frequently works alongside professionals from different disciples in a team-approach to meeting a client’s needs. With Mind and Motion Centers, Jonathan’s primary responsibilities are assessing individuals who come to our site with several standardized testing procedures and reporting these findings to the psychologist assigned to each case. He aims to make every client feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the process.
